We took over a small 40-square-meter apartment in a prime Ljubljana location, with a large terrace and garage, previously rented through Booking.com and Airbnb. At first glance, it looked modern and minimalist—but it quickly became clear that the space was no longer functioning efficiently for everyday living or short-term rental use.

A carpenter created a fully custom solution: a new bed design combined with built-in corner wardrobes. One side was designed for everyday clothing, while the other provided storage for shirts, bedding, and additional items.
Then came one of the simplest but most effective space-saving solutions in apartment renovation—replacing the traditional door with a sliding door.
This single change transformed the entire room, instantly improving flow, usability, and perceived space.
Bathroom Optimization and Functional Design Upgrade
In the bathroom, the dryer had stopped working, while the washing machine remained functional. Instead of replacing appliances unnecessarily, we focused on efficient apartment layout optimization.
Both machines were repositioned against the wall. Because the water outlet was on the opposite side, this adjustment created enough space for a custom-built cabinet with a drainage cutout.
And that was it—just five to ten centimeters of reclaimed space, but a completely transformed bathroom.
Cleaning supplies were integrated into hidden storage, shelves became more practical, and the entire bathroom became significantly easier to maintain—something even the cleaner immediately noticed and appreciated.
